The Guardians Bohéme Slip Dress

Inspired by the traditional French shift, or “chemise”, our NEW Artist Dress is a romantic and painterly piece that’s endlessly versatile. Wear it as a dress with leggings or bare legs, or as a long tunic over our matching Artist pants! About the Print: The Guardians began as a midnight offering — created at our studio in the small hours of a sleepless night, and pieced together by hand like a little prayer made of paper wings. At the heart of our design are the enchantingly beautiful angels from artist Edward Burne-Jones’ The Days of Creation series, collaged together in to a sweeping procession, their feathered wings folded around them, and each with a world cradled in their arms. We added a velvety night sky and a crescent moon from an 1800’s celestial lithograph, and wild branches and vines taken from a 17th century Italian pastoral etching. The trim features a vintage William Morris golden floral pattern, interwoven with stars borrowed from an antique Victorian book cover. 

The adjustable straps, oversized cut, and soft, flowy bamboo viscose make our Bohéme dresses a wardrobe staple for layering, running errands, dancing, lounging or napping — and they’re also a must-have for travel, wherever you roam. You can also wear this piece two ways, with the castle or two daggers on the front of the bodice, or the back — depending on your mood.

100% viscose (derived from plant fibres such as bamboo and wood). Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Iron to finish if needed.

We take all our measurements on a garment lying flat. Approximate measurements w/ Adjustable Straps: S/M — length 132cm at shortest strap adjustment, 142cm at longest. Width 52cm (across bust, underarm to underarm), 54cm (across waist seam). L/XL — 134 cm length at shortest strap adjustment, 144cm at longest. Width 57cm (across bust, underarm to underarm), 59 cm (across waist seam).
